When I first approached saxophonist Valerio Cosi about the Ecstatic Jazz Duos project, he wrote to me, “Great jazz deserves vinyl.” After reading that, I was convinced to find six of the most innovative duos in the avant-jazz/free-noise realm and commit them to three LPs. As a result, the Ecstatic Jazz Duos series represents a wide spectrum of outer-limits jazz with not one duo coming from the same point of view.
Thor’s Rubber Hammer is offering only 100 subscriptions to the whole series. It includes all three 12″s plus stickers, buttons, and a CDr of exclusive content only available to subscribers. The series is impeccably designed by Cristopher Cichocki.
